• Cedar Park leaders aim to maintain city services in face of inflation, decreasing taxable property values (communityimpact.com) — Cedar Park leaders are proposing a $216 million city budget that would raise the average homeowner's annual city property tax bill by about $49 while maintaining current service levels. Public hearings are set for Sept. 3 and 10, with a final vote expected Sept. 10 on a higher tax rate driven by inflation, rising costs, and a rare drop in taxable values.
   

• Pflugerville gun store break-in: Teens arrested for stealing 34 firearms, fleeing in stolen vehicle (fox7austin.com) — Cedar Park police are part of a multi-agency investigation that tied a string of car burglaries to a July gun store break-in in Pflugerville, where 34 firearms were stolen. Two teens, including a 15-year-old with prior warrants, were arrested after investigators linked stolen vehicles, social media posts, and surveillance footage across Cedar Park, Austin, Round Rock, and Buda.
