Anna Court Light Show Better Than Ever This Year

The neighbors at Anna Court have raised thousands of dollars for charity with their annual light show.

CEDAR PARK, TX - The neighbors at Anna Court have been putting on a spectacular light show for a decade, and this year it is even more high tech.

The light show boasts a display greater than 250,000 lights and their Christmas tree alone has more than 10,000 lights. Over the past two years the gang has computerized the display so that the lights are steady every other song. They have also synced the lights to music and added two new controllers this year.

Bryan Karp, one of the masterminds behind the dazzling light show, starts pruning the trees in preparation as early as September.

“We [put up] a little bit each weekend, and then a week before Thanksgiving me and two other neighbors go all out setting it up,” Karp said.

The neighbors all built their houses around the same time and ever since then have been like a “small family.” They get together for drinks, and even spend some holidays together.

They use their light show to raise donations for Blue Santa, which helps underprivileged kids in the Austin area, and the Austin shelter SafePlace. Over the years they have collected several thousand dollars for the charities.

The light show runs from 5 p.m. to 11:00 p.m (music ends at 10:00 p.m.) Sunday through Thursday until New Year’s eve. On Christmas eve and New Year’s eve the music will stay on until 11:00 p.m. Bring an unwrapped toy or cash donation to help the cause.
