Austin Firefighter Draws Two-Month Suspension For DWI In Cedar Park
Austin Fire Department firefighter Blake Mashburn also will have to undergo random alcohol testing for one year and attend counseling.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- An Austin firefighter drew a 60-day suspension after a DWI arrest while he was off duty in Cedar Park in June.
CBS Austin on Wednesday reported that firefighter Blake Mashburn was arrested for driving while intoxicated on June at a Cedar Park Sonic Drive-In eatery. Law enforcement officials said they received a call alerting to a reckless driver.
According to the news station, Mashburn refused to perform a field sobriety tests while under questioning by two officers. Because of his refusal, a bench warrant was issued to draw blood, and Mashburn's blood alcohol content registered at .126.

According to an internal memorandum referenced by the news station, Mashburn also will be subject to random alcohol testing for one year after returning to work following his two-month suspension. He also will be required to attend counseling centered on alcohol-related issues.
