CEDAR PARK - LEANDER, TX - The Leander city council recently passed an ordinance establishing child safety zones that will prevent sex offenders from living near places where children play, Fox 7 reported. The new rules are part of an effort to keep the city’s children safe from repeat sex offenders.
The new ordinance means it is now against the law for registered sex offenders to live within 1,000 feet of places where children regularly gather. This includes parks, schools, and daycares with more than 13 members.
