The newspaper spoke to a manager at Kung Fu Buffet who attributed the shortcomings to the hiring of new workers that might not have been up on restaurant protocol.

According to its Internet listing, operators of the restaurant describe it as a "...standard all-you-can-eat Asian buffet featuring everything from Chinese stir-fries to sushi."

While most reviewers on Yelp found the eatery satisfactory, a few noted some potential violations as part of their assessments. "The buffet is overall pretty dirty, it does not appear to have any kind of daily cleaning schedule," reviewer Shane T. of Lago Vista wrote. "The food was at best room temperature."

Shane T's review continues: "The thing that bugged me the most about Kung Fu Buffet was not the over all food but the staff. I sat and watched employees stand withing 15 feet of the front door smoking cigarettes. Not what I really want to walk into to coming in or out of a restaurant. Seems like you should at least go out the back door and do this."
