Cedar Park Bolstering Patrols For Impaired Driving Prevention Ahead Of Memorial Day

Police said the Memorial Day weekend and local graduations taking place concurrently drives the need for heightened police presence.

CEDAR PARK, TX — The Cedar Park Police Department will increase patrol presence on local roadways to prevent impaired drivers from travel in the days leading up to the Memorial Day holiday, officials said.

The heightened enforcement began on Monday and will continue until June 4, officials said. The goal is to discourage and monitor for impaired driving violations at part of the ongoing regional Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) initiative.

The enforcement period coincides with both the upcoming Memorial Day holiday and local graduations, officials said.
