Cedar Park Boy Scout Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

Cameron Lee McNeill, 18, secures Boy Scout's highest achievement recognition with project highlighting preservation.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts is no easy feat. And yet, a young Cedar Park resident has done just that in reaching the organization's highest achievement.

Cameron Lee McNeill, 18, earned the high rank in recognition of a unique project: Reclaiming native plants from a construction sites before transplanting them to a landscaped garden, the Austin-American Statesman reported.

The plants were moved to a site on the Cypress Creek campus of Austin Community College, the newspaper reported, showcasing the importance of plant conservation in the process.

McNeill is the son of Curtis and Natalie McNeill of Cedar Park. A member of Troop 234 chartered by Hill Country Bible Church, the young preservationist is a senior at Christian Academy and a dual credit student at ACC.
