Cedar Park City Council Mulling Lowered Speed Limit On Street Fronting School
Parents of children attending Cedar Park Charter Academy are pressing for crosswalk, signs with flashing lights and reduced speed signs.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- Members of the Cedar Park City Council have scheduled a second reading on a proposed ordinance to lower the speed limit to 20 mph on Buttercup Creek Boulevard.
Several parents have expressed concerns over the location, worried primarily over what they see as a street having a blind curve. A public hearing on the matter was staged Oct. 13. Specifically, the stretch of roadway in question is along Buttercup Creek Boulevard west of Bell Boulevard, fronting the Cedar Park Charter Academy.
Parents of children attending the school are asking for the lowered speed limit, a crosswalk and flashing light signs as a method of alerting motorists to the nearby presence of children.
