Cedar Park Council Approves Spending For Police Firing Range, Pact For 183A Improvements

Expenditure of $440,486 is approved for new training facility, and resolution lets mobility authority to begin planning road enhancements.

CEDAR PARK, TX — At their last regular meeting on Thursday, city council members approved an expenditure for a new shooting range for the police department and approved an agreement with other entities to proceed with infrastructure improvements.

The council approved spending $440,486 to build a new shooting range with a judgment simulator for the police department, the Hill Country News reported. The new facility is designed for training purposes with more realistic training scenarios, the newspaper reported.

Also at its Nov. 10 meeting, council passed a resolution to allow the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority to begin planning local street projects connecting to the 183A toll road, the newspaper reported. Envisioned work includes the addition of frontage roads on 183A between Avery Ranch and FM 1431 and the extension of 183A north beyond Highway 29 near Seward Junction.

Similar resolutions have previously been passed in Round Rock, Leander and Liberty Hill, the newspaper noted.
