military vehicles and classic cars.

This will all happen against the backdrop of the bucolic Cedar Park that many call home, a hometown

celebration as close you'll get to a Normal Rockwell painting come to life. That's how we see it, anyway.

The parade route begins at Cedar Park Center and travels south on Discovery Boulevard before proceeding

west on Main Street to the Recreation Center. Parade spectators should park at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park

(2100 Avenue of the Stars) or Cedar Park Recreation Center (1435 Main Street) and are encouraged to bring

comfortable seating. The City of Cedar Park thanks the residents of Cedar Park Town Center for their

hospitality.

After the Celebration

New this year, the City of Cedar Park is closing Cypress Creek Road between Sun Chase Boulevard and El

Salido Parkway from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Traffic exiting Milburn Park and vehicles parked east of

Milburn Park must move in an east or south direction; vehicles west of Milburn Park must travel in a west,

north or south direction. The purpose of this closure, city officials said, is to streamline and better manage

the egress from this year’s Celebration. All drivers are asked to please follow directions of Cedar Park Police

Officers who will be stationed at various intersections in the area.

Offices, facilities closures

City Hall and Public Works offices, along with the Cedar Park Recreation Center and Cedar Park Public

Library, will be closed all day on Tuesday, July 4 and will re-open on Wednesday, July 5 at their regular

posted hours. Trash and recycling service will remain on schedule for the entire week.

Fireworks illegal inside and outside of city limits

The City of Cedar Park reminds everyone that fireworks are illegal both inside the City limits and within

5,000 feet (just under a mile) of city limits. The punishment for illegally possessing fireworks is up to 180

days in jail and/or a $2,000 fine. Firefighters and Police will be patrolling areas both inside and outside of

Cedar Park for illegal fireworks.

So mark your calendar, Cedar Park residents. Fourth of July celebrations will abound throughout the Austin

area. But none will offer you the full flavorβ€”the understated yet welcoming grandeurβ€”that is your hometown of Cedar Park.
