Cedar Park Gets $68K Grant For Enhanced Fire Response
Funding via FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program aims to enhance overall level of preparedness.
CEDAR PARK, TX — Cedar Park was awarded a $68,832.72 federal grant to enhance operations and safety in response to fires and other emergencies, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn announced on Wednesday.
The funding comes through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG), which aims to strengthen the nation’s overall level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire and related hazards, according to a press advisory.
“Firefighters are on the front lines of keeping our communities safe, and they deserve every resource possible at their disposal,” Cornyn said in a prepared statement. “I applaud area leaders for their work to obtain this grant, and I’m grateful to the Trump Administration for supporting Cedar Park, Texas.”
