Junior Jav Guidry earns top medal in 100-meter dash and senior Crystal Onwukaife takes the gold for the shot put -- for second time.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- Everything's coming up golden at Cedar Park High School.
Junior Jav Guidry and senior Crystal Onwukaife have both brought back gold after UIL competition.
Guidry claimed the Class 5A boys title in the 100-meter dash last Friday with a time of 10.41 seconds, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Kenedy Snell from Waxahachie was second with 10.48 and Keishawn Everly of Fort Worth Trimble Tech came in third with a time of 10.54.

For her part, Cedar Park senior Onwukaife won the top prize for the Class 5A girls shot put field Thursday night at Myers Stadium, winning a gold medal for the second straight year, the newspaper reported.
Before snagging the gold last fall, Guidry was an important cog for his school's football team that took the Class 5A, Divison II state championship. The Statesman categorized him as "...one of the area's most explosive play makers."

The gold for Onwukaife was a fitting way to finish her senior year, winning the shot put wit ha toss of 45 feet, 4 1/4 inches -- about four inches farther than her winning throw last year, the Statesman reported.
She'll soon take her athletic and academic prowess to Texas Tech University where she signed last week.
"The only person I'm competing against is myself," Onwukaife told the Statesman. "I pushed myself to win state again."
Onwukaife. Guidry. Names to remember for the future as these two athletes are just getting warmed up.
