Cedar Park High School Grad Earned Perfect K-12TH Grade Attendance Record

As she settles into college life at Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, recent Cedar Park High School graduate Sarah Flores can accurately say she never missed a day of school.

As reported by Hill Country News, Flores didn't miss a single day of school -- from kindergarten to her senior year. Not a single day. That's nearly 2,300 days of perfect attendance.

The indefatigable Flores said she was actually inspired in first grade by her older brother, David Flores, who ultimately would accomplish the same feat before her.

“In fifth grade they presented him with a perfect attendance award for never missing a day of elementary school,” Sarah told the newspaper, referring to her brother. “I was inspired to do the same thing.”

In intervening years she would earn perfect attendance awards, propelling her to achieve a flawless record until her graduation.
“I knew after that that I wanted to keep it going,” she told the Hill Country News. “I had friends who encouraged me and said ‘Sarah, you have made it this far and you can keep going.’ "

Her mom is certainly proud of her daughter. She also told the newspaper she feels blessed Sarah, like her brother, were healthy enough through the years to achieve perfect attendance.

“I really feel like she was blessed,” Becki Flores, Sarah’s mother, told the paper. “She could have had chicken pox, pink eye or strep and had to miss. Other than allergies and some coughing spells, she never was sick.”

Now at the university, Sarah hopes to transfer to Johnson & Wales University to pursue of a culinary arts degree, she told media outlets covering her remarkable achievement.
