Cedar Park Holiday Schedule, Plus Altered Trash Pickup Days

CEDAR PARK, TX — City offices will be closed on Dec. 22 and Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday but trash and recycling pickup is not affected on Friday, Dec. 22, Cedar Park officials said.

City officials outlined the holiday schedule for myriad government functions over the holiday season.

Trash and recycling

For the week of Dec. 25-29, trash and recycling collection will slide by one day and run Tuesday through Saturday, officials said. For example, Monday trash and recycling will be collected on Tuesday and so on through Saturday.

In the week of Dec. 25, if your usual collection day is Monday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day), your pickup date slides over to Tuesday, Dec. 26. If your collection day is Tuesday, Dec. 26, it will slide to Wednesday, Dec. 27. If it's Wednesday, Dec. 27, it changes over to Thursday, Dec. 28. If your normal day is Thursday, Dec. 28, it slides to Friday, Dec. 29. For those whose normal pickup date is Friday, Dec. 29, garbage collection will be Saturday, Dec. 30.

City officials also remind residents of the recycling services offered the week of Dec. 25, regardless of recycling schedule.

Cedar Park city offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Holiday tree recycling

The city will provide free holiday tree recycling on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Cedar Park Recreation Center located at 1435 Main Street. Bring your real tree to the Rec Center with all decorations, ornaments and stands removed and receive a free tree sapling while supplies last. For a nominal donation, you may also schedule Boy Scout Troop 233 to pick up your tree and bring it to the recycling event for you. Visit www.troop233leander.org for details.

Library holiday hours

The Cedar Park Public Library will be open during its regular hours on Saturday, Dec, 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 25. The library will re-open on Dec. 26 for its regular hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Moreover, the Library will be open on Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, during its regular hours of 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. but will be closed on New Year’s Day. The Library will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 2, for its regular hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Rec Center holiday hours

The Cedar Park Recreation Center will be open during its regular hours on Saturday, December 23, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 25. The Rec Center will re-open on Tuesday, Dec. 26 for its regular hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Rec Center will be open on Sunday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, during its regular hours of 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. but will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, in observance of New Year’s Day. The Rec Center will re-open on Tuesday, Jan. 2 for its regular hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
