Cedar Park Home Invasion Under Investigation

Suspect stole a cell phone before being encountered by the resident.

Cedar Park police are searching for a suspect after a break-in Thursday morning on the 400 block of Buttercup Creek Boulevard.

The suspect, a man of medium build wearing a blue sleeveless shirt, grey sweatpants and a do-rag, entered the home through a window at around 6:45 a.m. before encountering the home’s sole occupant, Police Chief Sean Mannix told KXAN.

Mannix said it was too early in the investigation to disclose details about the encounter, and police are currently unaware of the suspect’s motive, if any, other than theft. A cell phone was reported stolen from the residence, Mannix said.

Mannix said that several police units, including the police helicopter, have been searching for the suspect.

In the meantime, Mannix recommends that everyone keep their doors and windows locked at all times to best be protected from break-ins.
