Cedar Park, Leander Have Some Of Region's Highest Apartment Rents

AUSTIN, TX — Apartment locator Zumper on Tuesday released its latest Metro Report for Central Texas, showing Cedar Park and Leander to have among the highest apartment rents in the region.

To nobody's surprise, Austin was the most expensive city for apartment dwellers. Austin rent grew 4.7 percent to a median of $1,150. Leander followed closely behind with one-bedroom units priced at $1,130, with Cedar Park third with rent at $1,090.

In the immediate area, Round Rock and Georgetown were among the least expensive cities in which to rent an apartment, tying for third place with rents just under $1,000 at $990, according to the analysis. San Marcos remained flat last mnth as the most affordable followed byWells Branch, Kyle and Jollyeville which tied for second least expensive cities, with one bedrooms priced at $960.

Austin also emerged as having among the fastest-growing rent from year to year, ranking third in the region with a 4.5 percent growth. Leander led the fastest-growing rent pack since this time last year, up 11.9 percent. Buda followed with an 8.5 percent yearly growth rate, making it the second-fastest growing city for rentals.

Month-to-month, Cedar Park had the largest rental growth rate, climbing 4.8 percent. Leander followed closely with a monthly growth rate of 4.6 percent since November. Austin was third, with rent increasing 4.5 percent.
