Cedar Park Library Schedules Black History Celebration

From the Harlem Renaissance to blockbuster film Black Panther, black community's incalculable contributions to popular culture to be feted.

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — In observance of Black History Month, the Cedar Park Library will stage an afternoon gathering this weekend focused on the innumerable contributions made by members of the black community to American popular culture.

"From the Harlem Renaissance to last year’s blockbuster film Black Panther, many of our great pop culture moments will be in the spotlight," organizers wrote in the municipal website. Participants can come and go as they please at the event, which starts at 2 p.m. with a short presentation.

Apart from invaluable knowledge learned at the presentation, arts and crafts activities will be available for the kids.
