Cedar Park Man Accused Of Cocking Loaded Shotgun In Road Rage Incident

"Texas white boys with kids carry guns," he's reported to have said while pointing the weapon at his victim, an African American woman.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- A local man was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon during what police described as a road rage incident.

According to a report in the Austin American-Statesman, Joshua Mazingo, 29, got into some sort of disagreement with another motorist. He then retrieved a 12-gauge shotgun from his vehicle while saying "Texas white boys with kids carry guns" and cocking the loaded firearm at the victim, described only as an African American female.

According to an arrest affidavit, Mazingo acknowledged both making the statement and cocking the gun.

According to the Statesman, Mazingo identified himself as a disabled combat veteran in a document requesting a court-appointed attorney. The report also notes a judge has ordered a mental health assessment for the man.

Given his actions, Mazingo now faces up to 10 years in prison for the second-degree felony. He was being held Williamson County Jail with a bail set at $35,000.
