Cedar Park Man Charged With 10 Counts of Child Pornography

A Cedar Park man is facing charges on 10 counts of possession of child pornography, according to a news release from the Attorney General’s office.

Gerardo Gamez, 44, was arrested last week after investigators from the Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit searched his laptop and discovered numerous pornographic videos. The investigators also determined that Gamez was sharing the videos online.

“Today, we can say another individual who has been arrested no longer poses a threat to the children of Texas, thanks to efforts of the Child Exploitation Unit,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in the news release. “Protecting our children and our communities from criminals is one of the most important jobs we have as law enforcement and I thank all of those involved who helped bring this man to justice.”

During an interview after his arrest, Gamez confessed to downloading and possessing the videos, officials said.
