Cedar Park Man Charged With Shooting His Father In The Leg
Ricky Frank Thomas Barker, 49, is in jail on $500K bond after allegedly shooting 75-year-old dad in leg that later had to be amputated.

CEDAR PARK, TX — A Cedar Park man accused of shooting his father in the leg — which later had to be amputated — was identified from police on Wednesday.
Ricky Frank Thomas Barker, 49, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the June 15 shooting in Harker Heights, NextStar Broadcasting reported. He's accused of shooting his father in the leg, a crime for which he is being held at the Bell County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
Harker Heights Police received a call last Friday night of an injured man, according to the report. When police arrived, they found a 75-year-old man on the sidewalk, bleeding from a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim told police he was returning home from shopping when he was shot in the leg upon entry into his home.

According to the report, the victim is being treated at Baylor Scott and White Hospital, where his leg was removed given extensive damage caused by the gunshot.
