Cedar Park Man Charged Trying To Solicit Minor For Sex
Fennis Rodriguez, 33, exchanged some 400 text messages with an officer posting as a 15-year-old girl before being arrested.

CEDAR PARK, TX — A Cedar Park man has been arrested after being accused of trying to have sex with a person he believed was a minor, officials said.
Fennis Rodriguez, 33, was charged with online solicitation of a minor, according to an arrest affidavit referenced by the Austin American-Statesman in a report. According to the document, Rodriguez sent texts on Jan. 24 to an officer posing as a 15-year-old girl online. All told, some 400 texts were exchanged, according to the report.
Rodriguez then asked the person he thought was a girl to skip school in order to meet with him, the affidavit indicates. He voiced his desire to have sex with the "girl" at a park on Booty's Crossing Road in Georgetown, according to the affidavit.

But when Rodriguez arrived at the rendezvous point, the affidavit reads, he was promptly arrested. He was released from the Williamson County Jail on Jan. 26 after posting $8,000 bail.
This is the second time in recent months involving arrests of men trying to solicit minors on the Internet. In November, the attorney general's Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) said three men were arrested after attempting to solicit minors online. The men were identified as Samuel David Kelly, Shane Michael Perry and Joshua Logan Dean.
