Cedar Park Offers Free Holiday Tree Recycling

On Saturday, Jan. 5, residents can have their trees to recreation center to make them into mulch benefiting city parks.

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — It's time to start thinking of taking down that Christmas tree, as melancholy as that process might be in accepting that another holiday season is past. To take a bit of the sting out of this realization, residents this week can recycle their trees for beneficial mulch benefiting city parks.

On Saturday, Jan. 5, residents can take their holiday trees to the Cedar Park Recreation Center, 1435 Main St., from 9 a.m. to noon for recycling. The free service offers a way to contribute tree mulch to be used for landscaping at city parks and other recreational facilities.

Needless to say, but worth repeating: Those taking their trees in for recycling should remove all decorations, ornaments and stands from said trees, officials reminded.
