Cedar Park Police To Bolster Road Presence During Thanksgiving Weekend To Curb Drunk Driving

Through Nov. 30, there will be measurably more police on streets targeting impaired drivers.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Cedar Park police will bolster their presence on the roadways during the Thanksgiving period in targeting possibly impaired drivers, officials said.

Police will add extra resources to monitor for and enforce impaired and aggressive driving violations during the Thanksgiving holidays, officials said in a press release.

"In an effort to keep travelers safe, we will be saturating the roadways with additional patrol officers from Nov. 20 to Nov. 30 using TxDOT’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant funds," police said.

"Don't play chicken on turkey day," city officials said. "If you’ve been drinking or are on medication that may impair your judgement, find a safe and sober ride home so we can all Arrive Alive!"
