Cedar Park Police Collecting Unused Prescription Drugs For Safe Disposal
No Hallmark cards available for 'Prescription Drug Take Back Day,' but it's a thing, and it's happening April 30.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- Mark your calendar, collect your unused medicines together and hold off on flushing unused prescription pills down the toilet. In that order, please.
The Cedar Park Police will be collecting prescription drugs on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of Prescription Drug Take Back Day. A convenient drive-through will be set up on the Municipal Court side of the police station, 911 Quest Parkway.
You won't be able to get burgers at this drive-through, but can pull up and drop off your expired or unused medicines -- "no questions asked," officials note, curiously, in a press advisory.

It's a much safer alternative than dumping the unused meds into the water system, officials note. So let the city handle it, with proper disposal methods.
"This is a great opportunity for you to safely dispose of medications that you no longer want or need in your home," officials note. "Plus it's environmentally friendlier than flushing them down the toilet."

And, while this may go without saying, city officials add: "The only thing we cannot accept are syringes."
That "no questions asked" thing might be suspended if you take syringes. Leave those at home, but bring all the unused pills.
