Cedar Park Police Net More Than A Dozen DWI Arrests Over Fourth Of July Holiday Period
The crackdown on drunk drivers came by virtue of the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, known as STEP.

Cedar Park, TX -- Police on Monday disclosed the results of their drunk driving crackdown during the Fourth of July period.
Initiated by law enforcement agencies throughout Texas, the effort is known as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP).
The bolstered patrol targeting drunk drivers ran from June 24 to July 5. In that span of time, police made 13 DWI arrests, according to the Cedar Park Police Department.

"The goal of the operation was to target impaired and aggressive driving over the popular summer travel period," police explained in a prepared statement. "The next STEP Initiative will be held August 19th through September 5th."
