Police will join counterparts at other area law enforcement agencies offering tips to avoid drunk driving.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Cedar Park Police will join counterparts at other area law enforcement agencies Thursday at a news conference ahead of Memorial Day promoting safe driving.
Holidays tend to be times of drinking alcoholic beverages, which can lead to drunk driving. To curb the scourge, Cedar Park Police will join officials at the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Pflugerville Police Department and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in offering tips and suggestions designed to prevent impaired driving during the Memorial Day weekend.
The news conference is scheduled to take place Thursday, May 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the Pennybacker Bridge, 5300 N. Capital of Texas Highway, in Austin. Scheduled speakers will include Austin Police Assistant Chief Justin Newsom, Travis County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Willie Taylor and survivor Tiffani Ragan.
