Cedar Park Police Warn Residents Of Fake Charity

Members going door to door asking for donations to benefit active-duty military members.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- Police are alerting residents to what they label as a scam: A small group of people claiming to be part of an organization seeking donations to active-duty military.

The people claiming to represent an organization named United Soldier Outreach LLC are going door to door seeking donations, police said. "This group does not have a permit and does not appear to be a legitimate organization," police said via their website.

They ask residents to call them immediately if contacted by anyone purporting to be a member of this "charity." the number to call and nofity police is (512) 260-4600 ex 0.

Once the police posted the notice on their Facebook page, other residents reported having seen the group's members in their communities.

"These guys are in Pflugerville today in the Villages of Hidden Lake," one resident reported. "TCSO (Travis County Sheriff's Office) has been notified. (A neighbor has a photo from their security camera if that helps.)"
