Cedar Park Racks Up Honors, Accolades During 2019

City officials enumerated the myriad recognition the city received this year on several fronts.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Those living in Cedar Park are well aware of its charms. Those doubting its coveted dynamics need only see a list of the honors and accolades bestowed to the city this year on a variety of fronts.

City officials enumerate some of those honors on the municipal website:

  • Police Department has Recognized Agency Status through the Texas Police Chiefs Association’s Best Practices Program, and was accredited in 2019 by CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Fire Department earned National and International Reaccreditation in 2019 from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). Fire Department also retains its Class 1 ISSO Rating from the Insurance Services Office.
  • Economic Development Department won a Community Economic Development Award (CEDA) in 2019 for its work on the Hyliion Project.
  • WalletHub.com ranked Cedar Park the 10th Best Small City in America.
  • MarketWatch.com named Cedar Park the 3rd Most Affordable City in Texas – and we were the only city in Central Texas to be included in their Top 5.
  • ApartmentList.com ranked Cedar Park the 7th in its list of Best Cities in the Country for Families.
  • SafeHome.org named Cedar Park 6th Safest City in Texas
