Cedar Park Ready For National Night Out

City galvanizes for annual anti-crime solidarity movement twice a year, making it one of nation's most ardent practitioners.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Cedar Park residents are poised for the city's National Night Out Kick-off party on Saturday afternoon. And they don't mess around with their exuberance: The city's showing has been ranked among the top cities of the same size nationally, city officials said.

They're so committed, they do this twice — once during the city's own version and again in August during the nationally observed National Night Out dates when hundreds of communities partake nationwide.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Following are details on Cedar Park's dual observations:

National Night Out Kick-Off Party

WHEN: Saturday, July 27th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Heritage Oak Park

DETAILS: Free event to the public with rock climbing walls, petting zoo, live music, food, fun and much more.

National Night Out Neighborhood Events

WHEN: Tuesday, August 6th from 6-9 p.m.

WHERE: Various Cedar Park neighborhoods

DETAILS: "We encourage neighbors to host a block-party or cookout — register it with us and our officers will try to stop by that night and say hello," officials wrote.
