Cedar Park Student Places At National Speech Tournament

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — A university student from Cedar Park was part of the national champion Bradley University speech team, school officials announced Monday.
Brenna Fuhr placed 4th in impromptu speaking and was a semi-finalist in persuasive speaking, according to a university-generated press advisory. The team now has a record total 42 national titles, after winning the American Forensics Association (AFA) national tournament, officials said.
With 42 team national championships and more than 160 individual national championships, the Bradley Speech Team is not only the most successful collegiate forensics program in the country but the most successful collegiate team in any capacity, including sports, according to the Associated Press. Bradley beat out schools that included Illinois State, the universities of Nebraska, Alabama and Texas, Northwestern and Western Kentucky, officials noted.
