CEDAR PARK, TX — Love is in the air at Cedar Park, and it's of the municipal variety. The city has launched a new social media campaign encouraging residents to show the love for their community, officials announced on Tuesday.

As part or its "I Heart Cedar Park" campaign, city officials are encouraged to take selfies and photos with “heart hands” showing what they love about the city before sharing them on social media using #IHeartCedarPark or #IHeartCP and tagging the City of Cedar Park.

The City of Cedar Park’s handles are City of Cedar Park, Texas-City Government (Facebook), @CedarParkTX (Twitter) and cityofcedarpark (Instagram). Photos can be of anything residents love about Cedar Park: their family, friends, home, pets, a certain restaurant or shopping place, or perhaps even a park or trail, city officials noted: "The possibilities are endless."

Tangible proof of that love has already emerged. City officials report that hundreds of residents took turns snapping photos in front of an oversize sign alerting to the campaign during the Dec. 6 Holiday Tree Lighting and Santa's Workshop. Some even expressed their love by writing of their favorite local things on a dry erase board, with sentiments ranging from friends and family to home and special events.

City officials encourage residents to visit the Cedar Park Flickr site for further inspiration.
