Cedar Park Woman Jailed For Allegedly Stealing $1

Gina Dianne Guidry, 52, is accused of snatching another woman's change as the victim made a purchase at a food truck .

CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — One dollar doesn't sound like much, but stealing one is enough to send a person to jail on a state felony as a Cedar Park woman allegedly taking the buck from a food truck customer learned this week.

Gina Dianne Guidry, 52, is accused of snatching another woman's change as the victim made a purchase at a food truck along the 9000 block of Northgate Boulevard early Wednesday morning, according to media reports. The crime victim said she had ordered food when Guidry is alleged to have demanded money, the Austin American-Statesman reported. As the woman was being given her change, Guidry is said to have snatched $1 when the woman refused to give her money,according to the report.

As arriving officers interviewed the customer, the Austin American-Statesman reported, she spotted Guidry and pointed her out to police. The customer claimed $2 had been stolen from her, but Guidry insisted it was just $1, according to the report.

Guidry now faces a charge of theft from a person, which is a state felony.

Texas Department of Public Safety records show a long criminal history for Guidry dating back a quarter-century on charges ranging from drug possession and public intoxication to robbery and theft. She was being held at Travis County Jail as of Friday, with bail set at $12,000.
