Cedar Park Woman Shot In Stomach After Domestic Dispute

CEDAR PARK, TX — A woman was shot in the stomach late Sunday after a domestic disturbance turned violent.

Cedar Park police said the woman in her 20s was shot outside a home off Red Oak Street. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

Investigators later learned the suspect had fled to Houston following the shooting. After alerting authorities there to be on the lookout, Horacio Martinez, 33, was arrested in Washington County and booked into jail on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

"As of 9 a.m. this morning, the victim has had surgery and remains in critical condition," police said in a prepared statement. "Right now this is being investigated as a domestic dispute situation but it remains ongoing. We will continue to update you with any new information as soon as possible."
