Celebration Of Cedar Park Trail, Dam Improvements On Tap

Free and open to the public, ribbon-cutting event scheduled April 18 will showcase $18 million improvements project.

CEDAR PARK, TX — County officials will stage an upcoming ribbon-cutting to mark improvements to Dam 7 and the Brushy Creek Regional Trail around the dam, officials said.

Dam 7 is located on Brushy Creek by the City of Cedar Park’s Brushy Creek Lake Park. The project included modernizing Dam 7 and bringing it into compliance with current state dam safety regulations, officials said. The District partnered with Williamson County to replace and upgrade the regional trail across the dam as part of the project.

The new trail has been widened by 12 feet and includes an entry plaza and overlook, according to officials. The district also partnered with Austin Water to relocate an existing wastewater line around the spillway, officials added, noting the total cost of construction was approximately $18 million.
