City Gets $2.56M In Local Sales Tax Allocations For February

The gains represent an increase of slightly above 5 percent from last year's $2.43 million in 2015 comparable period.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- The city posted a respectable 5.05 percent increase in local sales tax allocations for Febuary from the same period last year, the state comptroller’s office recently reported.

Cedar Park received $2.56 million in allocations for February, up slightly from $2.43 million for the same period last year. Year to date for this year, the city has secured $4.3 million in allocations, a 5.43 percent increase for last year’s comparable period.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar disclosed the latest allocations in a recent press release. All told, $867.1 million in sales tax allocations statewide was distributed for February -- a negligible 0.7 percent reduction from the same period in 2015.

The allocations are based on sales made in December by businesses reporting tax monthly, the comptroller said.
