City Posts A Nearly 20 Percent Sales Tax Allocation Gain From 2015
In February, comptroller returns $424,118 -- up from $355,450 in last year's comparable period.

LEANDER, TX -- Leander posted an impressive gain of nearly 20 percent in local sales tax allocations for February from last year’s comparable period.
The state comptroller’s office recently disclosed statewide allocations. Leander got $424,118 for February, up from $355,450 during the same period last year. For the year so far, Leander has gotten $712,585, which represents 9.73 percent increase during the same period in 2015.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar disclosed the latest allocations in a recent press release. All told, $867.1 million in sales tax allocations statewide was distributed for February -- a negligible 0.7 percent reduction from the same period in 2015.

The allocations are based on sales made in December by businesses reporting tax monthly, the comptroller said.
