Coffee With Chody: Williamson County Sheriff To Host First Community Meet-And-Greet
Like 'Coffee With a Cop' gatherings staged elsewhere, gatherings promote dialogue with residents in a relaxed setting.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Get to know your sheriff during an upcoming coffee chat in Georgetown.
On July 3, Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody will host the community gathering at the Starbucks coffee shop at 900 N. Austin in Georgetown from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The event offers residents a chance to meet their sheriff in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
"I look forward to meeting everyone," Chody said in a prepared statement. "It is a chance for me to have a one-on-one conversation with community members."

While the Austin Police Department regularly stages "Coffee With a Cop" sessions for residents to meet their police officers, this will mark the first similar gathering between Chody and community residents. The local version is dubbed "Starbucks with the Sheriff."
Officials at the sheriff's office said this will be the first of more such gatherings scheduled in the coming months. Such gatherings are staged at law enforcement agencies as a way of not only demystifying police agencies, but to encourage input from residents in a relaxed setting.
