'Drugs: Costs and Consequences' Exhibit To Launch This Week At Cedar Park

Display at Texas Museum of Science and Technology, 1220 Toro Grande Dr., will launch on Sept. 22, and run through June 30, 2018.

CEDAR PARK, TX — A unique traveling exhibit, "Drugs: Costs and Consequences," will be on display in Cedar Park beginning this week.

The display at the Texas Museum of Science and Technology, 1220 Toro Grande Dr., will launch on Friday, Sept. 22, and run through June 30, 2018.

Formerly known as Target America, the traveling exhibit has been installed at 15 cities over the last 16 years, and has been viewed by over 22 million visitors. The exhibit will be on display at the Texas Museum of Science & Technology will be open daily. Entrance to the exhibit is included in the admission to the museum.

EXHIBIT HIGHLIGHTS:

• Drugs:Costs & Consequences presents an objective look at the many costs and consequences of drugs to
our society and provides a very powerful message of the destructive health, environmental, safety, and
family impacts of drug use on our society.
• Youth, parents, and other adults in the community are presented a learning opportunity to participate in
science-based experiences as well as explore global drug issues that impact the United States, working
down to every state and community. Each visitor can be part of the solution to make changes for the better.
• Visitors will discover the latest cutting-edge research being conducted around the country, providing a
better understanding of what drugs do to the body and what can be done to stop or reverse that damage.
• Visitors will be introduced to drug law enforcement, drug abuse prevention education, and drug treatment
efforts being conducted around the world and how those efforts are impacting the local community.
• The DEA Museum aims to connect with a wide variety of organizations in the local community to promote
the exhibit. We seek organizations that represent the private sector,non-profit organizations,schools/school
systems, law enforcement, federal agencies,state agencies, medical fields, prevention, and intervention
organizations, faith-based organizations, and others.
