Eco-Friendly Cedar Park Pre-Schoolers 'Root For Earth'
Little tykes from The Goddard School plan runway show displaying fashion crafted from recycled items among other activities.
CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — In observance of Earth Month, area pre-schoolers at The Goddard School will call attention to the 9th annual "Root for Earth" initiative with a variety of events.
Pre-schoolers in Cedar Park and Austin will participate along with children at Goddard School locations throughout the country. While the children learn about eco-friendly topics throughout the year, officials said, this month especially will celebrate learning about the environment and what it means to be a good environmental steward.
During this year’s Root for Earth campaign, preschoolers have been involved in a month-long upcycling challenge during which time they will collect all single-use plastics that come into the classroom (plastic bags, utensils, etc.) and use the items to create an art installation at the end of the month as a school.

Additionally, the students will engage in a range of eco-friendly activities inspired by STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) including a recycled runway fashion show, lights out party, special guest presentations and more. These projects foster creativity and imagination while giving children the opportunity to learn about recycling, going green and preserving the world around them, officials noted.
