Elderly Leander Man Shot In Face During Car Burglary In Stable Condition

Armando Espinoza, 28, was arrested in connection to the incident and is behind bars with a $1.1 million bail.

LEANDER, TX — An elderly Leander man continues to recover after being shot in the face before having his truck stolen, according to reports.

Lt. Billy Fletcher of the Leander Police Department told Fox 7 on Friday a suspect was booked into the Bastrop County Jail for the Sept. 3 incident along East Evans Street. Suspect Armando Espinoza, 28, is believed to have burglarized a home in the area before allegedly shooting the 75-year-old man for his truck.

At last check, the victim was in stable condition. Espinoza is still behind bars under a $1.1 million bail.
