Fireworks Are Illegal, Do Not Use: Cedar Park FD
Fireworks are prohibited not only from the city itself, but anywhere within 5,000 feet of city limits.

CEDAR PARK, IL — The Cedar Park Fire Department is warning residents that fireworks are illegal to possess in the city, or within 5,000 feet of the city, without a permit.
The City of Cedar Park released a video on their YouTube channel called "Stop the Pop," which shows a goofy firework enthusiast being informed by a fire official that his fireworks are illegal.
"Well fine, I'll just go to Hutto!" the enthusiast says. The camera then cuts to a Hutto firefighter holding fireworks. "These? Nuh uh. Not in or around Hutto." The enthusiast then lists off several other names in the area, including Pflugerville and Cedar Park, and gets the same response from firefighters of those municipalities.

“We realize that it can be confusing to know whether fireworks are illegal at your home if you live in an area just outside of Cedar Park City limits. But remember that if you live less than a mile from Cedar Park city limits you could be breaking the law,” Cedar Park Fire Chief James Mallinger said. “The safest thing to do is not use fireworks.”
Cedar Park police are required to issue citations to residents using fireworks as a part of the city's zero tolerance policy, according to the Statesman.

The reason is simple: safety. “What starts out as a good time can easily end in a tragedy and ruin the holiday season," Mallinger said.
