ICYMI: First Responders' Cedar Park Charity Football Game For Special Olympics Set

Saturday's match-up at Gupton Stadium pits the Central Texas Wolf Pack against the Los Angeles Centurions.

CEDAR PARK, TX — First responders will stage a charity football game this coming Saturday benefiting Special Olympics in Cedar Park, a match-up pitting the Central Texas Wolf Pack against the Los Angeles Centurions.

The 5 p.m. game is scheduled at May 20 at the Gupton Stadium in Cedar Park, with pre-game family fun preceding the contest at 4 p.m. Donation entry guarantees access to the contest.

The Central Texas Wolf Pack and the LA Centurions are both public safety football organizations of the National Public Safety Football League. Both organizations are non-profit and are comprised of full-time first responders from various agencies that serve their respected communities, and members participate on a volunteer basis. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Texas.

Special Olympics describes its mission as one to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
