Food Sold At Cedar Park Whole Foods 365 Recalled
Houston-based food vendor recalls select salads, wraps containing soy, an ingredient not included on label that may prove harmful to some.
CEDAR PARK, TX — A Houston-based food vendor has recalled select salads, wraps and other food sold at the Whole Foods Markets 365 in Cedar Park and elsewhere containing soy, a known allergen that could pose health risks to customers with intolerance to the ingredient.
The Food and Drug Administration said GHSW, LLC is voluntarily recalling select salads, wraps and salad bar trays sold at two Whole Foods Markets 365 in Texas — including the one at Cedar Park — and at others stores in Louisiana and Oklahoma because the product labels fail to declare soy as a sub-ingredient of the mayonnaise used to manufacture the products.
"Some of the labels, however state that the products 'may contain soy,' " regulators explained. "People who are allergic to soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products."

No reports of illnesses or injury have been received to date, food regulators noted. The recall was initiated after it was discovered during a label review that mayonnaise containing soy was used in these products and that the packaging did not properly declare the presence of soy, officials added.
GHSW, LLC officials urge customers with soy allergies to not consume these products, and to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Consumers with questions can call (888) 449-9386 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.s PST or email info@rfgfoods.com.
