Four In Custody After Cedar Park Shooting (Booking Photos)

Donte Perez, Christian Huffman, Justin Stanley and Caleb Besa behind bars, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

CEDAR PARK, TX — Four suspects were in custody after a man was shot in Cedar Park last night, police said on Thursday.

In a news advisory, police said they responded to a call at around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday along the 3000 block of Colonial Parkway where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand. The victim told police he had been chased by five armed men trying to steal his backpack, including on suspect known to the victim.

A gunshot rang out as the victim reached the door of a nearby resident as he fled, police said. The suspect had been shot in the hand and fragments of the struck door created wooden shrapnel slightly injuring the residents.

The suspects, meanwhile, fled the scene with the victim's backpack in tow. But police located four of the five suspects later and booked them into the Williamson County Jail. The suspects — identified as Donte Perez, Christian Huffman, Justin Stanley and Caleb Besa — were charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police continue to search for the fifth suspect, whose identify is unknown. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Tammy Barnett at (512) 260-4672. Those preferring to submit an anonymous tip can do so here.
