Illegal Transaction Gone Awry Leads to Gunshots in Cedar Park

An incident originally determined road rage is now suspected to be am illegal transaction gone awry.

Two people in vehicles were involved in a transaction Thursday night that ultimately resulted in a car chase, a crash and gunshots being fired by one of the drivers, Travis County sheriffs office told KXAN.

The driver who was shot at eventually fled the scene which took place in the 3100 block of Whitestone Boulevard west of Cedar Park. The shooter abandoned his vehicle and ran into a nearby wooded area, police said.

The incident garnered response from Cedar Park Police, and Austin police helicopter and Travis County Sherrif’s Deputies, reported KXAN.

Police are still investigating and neither individual has been found or identified.
