Kids Keen On Police Careers Urged To Enroll In Williamson County Junior Deputy Classes
Kids 11-14 will scan mock crime scenes, collect evidence, tour sheriff's office and county jail, get CPR/ first aid training and more.
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is looking for a few good kids.
Children between the ages of 11 to 14 who live in the county are encouraged to talk to their parents about enrolling them in summer classes introducing them to the world of law enforcement. Junior cadets will investigate mock crime scenes, collect evidence, tour the sheriff's office and county jail and receive first aid training and taught to perform life-saving CPR techniques.
Participants also will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on experience with advanced tactical equipment and self-defense techniques.

Classes will begin July 18. Drop off times are 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in front of the Sheriff’s Office at 508 Rock St. in Georgetown, Texas, with a pick-up scheduled at 5 p.m. Classes are scheduled to end July 21, with a graduation ceremony scheduled at 4 p.m. on the final day.
The class is limited to 15 students and applications will be taken on a first come first serve basis. There is no cost for the program, but students will need to bring their ow lunch each day. A refillable water bottle is also recommended.
