Leander City Council Meets Later Than Scheduled

The meeting that had been scheduled on Jan. 2 was postponed given the New Year's Day holiday that took place the day before.

LEANDER, TX — It may have not escaped your notice there was no city council meeting last week. That's because the regularly scheduled meeting was moved to a different date as a result of the holidays.

Given the New Year's Day holiday, Leander City Council members agreed to move their Jan. 2 meeting to later in the month. Thus, the first and second regular council meetings in 2020 are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 16, and Thursday, Jan. 30, officials said.

Council normally meets on the first and third Thursday of every month. The city charter requires council to meet at least twice a month, and at any other time deemed necessary to transact the business of the city, officials noted.
