Leander to Get Chartered Little League Baseball in Spring
The League will have three age divisions, and teams in the oldest division could compete in the Little League World Series.

LEANDER, TX - Kids in Leander should get used to hearing two words spoken more often next spring.
“Batter up.”
Starting in Spring, Leander’s children will be able to take the field for a newly formed, and officially chartered, Little League Baseball league, announced the city on its website. Kids aged 4-12 will be able to compete across three age divisions — Tee-Ball for 4-7-year-olds, Coach Pitch for 7-11-year-olds, and Majors for 9-12-year-olds.

Tee-Ball and Coach Pitch leagues will focus on skill development, whereas Majors will be a competitive league where teams could win a chance to play in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Registration fees also vary depending on age. The Majors age division will cost $125, the Coach Pitch division will cost $70 and Tee-Ball will cost $55. Registration is currently open and will last until February 25th or until the league is full. Registration can be completed online atwww.leanderparks.com. Alternatively, it can be completed in-person at 406 Municipal Drive.

Team practices will start in early March and kids will finally be able to play ball starting April 4.
