Leander ISD To Update Public On Superintendent Search At Next Meeting
The next meeting of the board of trustees has been pushed up by an hour in order to fit all the agenda items on tap.

LEANDER, TX -- The May 19 regular meeting of the Leander ISD board of trustees has been moved to an earlier time, district officials announced.
The meeting also will be staged at Support Services as it normally is. Board of trustees meetings usually begin at 6:15 p.m. at Support Services, 1900 Cougar Country. Agendas for all board meetings are posted at the LISD Central Office 72 hours prior to each meeting.
Among the items to be discussed at the May 19 meeting will be an update on the search fo find a new superintendent. Outgoing schools chief Bret Champion is soon departing to take the same post at the Klein ISD, and a Leander ISD interim superintendent was recently named while trustees embark on a national search for a replacement.

Also to be determined are teacher and non-teacher salary scales and raises. The district's tax collection report also will be discussed, along with discussion on student dress codes which may require action by the trustees.
Young athletes will be recognized for recent achievements, including the state semifinalist Vista Ridge High School girls soccer team; the high school's boys golf teams earning first and second place in state meet; and others.
