Leander Public Library Gets New Director

LEANDER, TX — A new library director has been selected in Leander, with her start date scheduled for next week.

Peggy Parrish previously accepted the position of Leander Public library director, and will start on Monday, Feb. 17. Parrish will relocate from Michigan with previous experience as a director, branch lead, children's librarian and circulation assistant. Her library service includes work at Kent District Library, Clinton Township Public Library, and Muskegon Area District Library, according to a bio provided by the city.

Parrish received a Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.

The incoming library director replaces Interim Director Denise Galarraga following the departure of former director Priscilla Donovan in November 2019. As director, Parrish serves as an employee of Library Systems & Services, the city’s contracted service provider for library operations.
